Welcome to Studio No. 5


Studio No. 5 is a small but nimble operation with over fifteen years of design expertise, and nearly a decade of work in higher education. Projects include, print, digital, and motion design, brand strategy, information design, and data visualization.

We excel in developing and executing creative strategies, collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams, and creating compelling visual narratives.

These animated banners were developed around the themes of logistics, consumer conveniences, and technology, to highlight the core focus of NextView, a venture capital firm that invests in tech companies focused on the everyday economy. I also developed a suite of related icons.

Audio Producer
I worked with audio producer Nina Porzucki and designer Amanda Pickens to build a website showcasing Nina’s work, which you are likely to have heard if you ever listen to stations such as the BBC, NPR, GBH, or PRI/PRX. Visit the site.

About Studio No. 5

The studio was founded by Rachel Harris, who has over fifteen years of experience working at the intersection of information design, branding, and motion graphics. She has most recently worked as a senior designer for the Harvard Kennedy School, and Fathom, a data visualization studio.

Rachel holds a MFA from RISD in graphic design, and has taught classes and served as a visiting lecturer at design programs around New England.

Studio No. 5 is open for projects and collaborations, and would be delighted to hear from you.
